John Johannes Reiter & Anne Barrett Family
John is the older brother of Severin Reider. John came to America about 10 years before Severin. He married an Irish immigrant Anne Barrett and settled into life in the Scranton, Pa. area. He was obviously in touch with his family as seen by the fact that Severin went to Scranton when he and his wife came to America in 1855. John was a watchmaker and jeweler along with several of his sons. Both John and Severin were in Paterson, NJ by 1866. John died in Feb. 1898 and is buried in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Anne died in 1892 and is buried beside her husband.
