Josephine Reider
Josephine was the first-born child of Jerome Henry Reider and Fredericka Buehler Reider named for her paternal grandmother. She was born in 1884 in Paterson, New Jersey. She worked as a weaver in a silk factory in Paterson while still in her teens. Silk factories were widespread at the time. Paterson was known as "Silk City". Josephine suffered from diabetes and must have had problems controlling it. She died in 1903 at the tender age of 19. Her parents likely named son Joseph in her honor. He was born approximately 1 month after her death.
