Isaac Cox and Sarah Porter Conway Family
This page is devoted to all of the documents and records collected for the Isaac Cox Jr. family. I would like to thank another descendant of Isaac and Sarah for finding and sharing their photos. What a terrific find ! Isaac always considered himself a carpenter first. He is not to be found in the agricultural censuses until 1880.

Funeral Record for Isaac Cox - This is a record for the Evan's Undertaking home.
For reasons not very clear, Isaac left very little estate other than land when he died. A person to whom Isaac owed money filed a petition with the probate court for his heirs to file for probate so he could be paid. His heirs declined and the man who owned the debt was accepted as administrator. He was paid for his debt and services but the land was tied up in a case in the Court of Common Pleas in neighboring Clinton County. This was evidently a case for partition of the land. This probate journal is a summary of each step of the process. No will was found and his wife died 7 years earlier.
